How can we help your family? First, let us start by saying you are the most important person in your child’s life. We have a team of professionals who will help you determine the most appropriate supports and services, but you, as a parent, are the most important part of that team. You know the needs of your child, and your family, better than anyone. With that said, Early Childhood Intervention offers a system of supports and services individually designed to help meet the needs of your family and your child. These services are provided at no cost to you. These services include:

Free screenings

We screen children ages 0-3 (and in cooperation with local school districts and Special Education Co-operatives) in the counties of Big Horn, Carbon, Fergus, Golden Valley, Judith Basin, Musselshell, Petroleum, Stillwater, Sweet Grass, Wheatland, and Yellowstone.  We are also able to do free screenings in your home.

Support and information

We can answer questions and concerns about your child’s development, and work with you on a plan to get the supports and services your child and family needs. Your Family Support Specialist will serve as a coach to help you through the whole process.

Family Education & Support Services (FES) are available to families who have a child with a developmental disability, aged 3-21 years old. Services are usually provided in the home and include education, support, resources and service coordination. This service is provided at no cost to families. For more information about FES, please contact STEP at 406-248-2055
